Marcello Gravellu ist ein expert in der Bewirtschaftung von Kapern und noch viele andere Pflanzen. Seit er ein Kind war, hat er sein Vater und andere Männer zur Acker gefolgt. Das Leben leitete aber ihm ins lokalen Spital als manager von Versorgung und organisierung der Putzfirma. Jetzt in der Rente, ist er wieder 100% zurück in den Felden, seine eigene und die von Freunde und Verwandte, welche er fleissig unterstützt. Seine Leidenschaft sind Trauben und Wein, für Kapern hat er weniger Zeit, aber er erntet trotzdem etwa 100 kg pro Jahr, und er ratet auch junghere Bauern, die diese Pflanzen neu kulitiveren wollen.

He grows organic but without any certifications.
The capers are not fertilized, he waters them twice at the beginning of the harvesting season.
He removes manually the eggs and larvae of the cabbage moth, that would else defoliate the plants.

Capers are harvested starting in may until june. marcello goes on alternate days to pick his capers.
